Fellowship Program

The Shapeshifters Fellowship Program provides resources and support for artists working with experimental moving image and sound-based work. Fellowships are granted to individual artists living and working in the SF Bay Area for a period of 6 months. Fellows are given a stipend as well as access to equipment and space and free admission to all workshops and events hosted at Shapeshifters Cinema within a defined 6-month period.

Fellows are chosen by a panel of artists and educators working in and around experimental moving image and sound-based work.

Fellowships are supported exclusively by Shapeshifters Members at the Shapeshifter level, who receive credit as a sponsor in all artwork made during a fellowship period.

The initial call for submissions will be posted sometime in 2025, subject to available funding.
